Dhul Hijjah

Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka antas-Sami'ul-'Aleem

The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are considered the best days of the Islamic year, holding immense religious significance. They are a time for increased worship, seeking blessings, and engaging in righteous deeds, as they are particularly favored by Allah. This period includes the Day of Arafah, Hajj, and Eid ul-Adha, making it a highly revered time for Muslims. Key aspects of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah: 

  • Highest rewards:These days are considered the most blessed, with even small acts of worship earning immense rewards. 
  • Increased worship:Muslims are encouraged to enhance their acts of worship, including prayer, fasting, and charity. 
  • Fasting:Fasting on the first nine days, especially on the Day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah), is highly recommended. 
  • Qurbani:The period of Qurbani (sacrifice) begins on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah and lasts until the 12th, making it an important time for this ritual. 
  • Hajj:The Hajj pilgrimage takes place during this period, with the main rituals beginning on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah.
